Africa Day 2015
ProVideoIreland were down at the annual Africa Day celebrations A Farmleigh Estate in the Phoemnix Park. There was a wealth of colours, sights, sounds and smells to enrich the senses. I always enjoy attending Africa Day, there is a great variety of music and it’s great to see the different nationalities and cultures decked out in their traditional finery.
The event gave me the opportunity to test out my current camera the Panasonic GH4 in it’s super slow mo setting. This gives me the ability to shoot at up to 96 frames per second, allowing me to really capture the moment. It was especially useful when capturing the great dancing that was all around me, if it was the workshops demonstrating different styles, people performing at their respective country’s stalls or the free style flailing that I saw as Kíla blew the roof off to cap a fantastic family day out.
The Africa Day event is an annual celebration organised by Irish Aid to commemorate Africa Day which falls on the 25th of May every year to celebrate African Unity. For more information on the event check out http://africaday.ie/
